Stay Safe While You Match

Video chat with strangers is at its best when both people feel in control. This page separates what GoMatch builds into the product from the judgment calls that stay with you — honestly, and without inflated promises.

What the Product Gives You

These are concrete features of GoMatch — not aspirations, and not marketing language.

Adults Only, 18+

GoMatch is a video matching service for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account and use the product.

Leave Any Match Instantly

The leave button is available for the entire call. One tap ends the conversation immediately — no confirmation, no penalty, no explanation owed.

Report from Inside the App

If another user behaves inappropriately, the report option is built into the product so the moderation team can review the behavior.

Your Camera and Mic Stay Yours

Camera and microphone access are granted by you, through your browser's own permission prompt, when you start matching. Browsing GoMatch pages never activates your camera on its own.

To revoke access, open your browser's site settings for gomatch.chat — in Chrome, click the lock icon in the address bar and open site settings; Safari, Firefox, and Edge offer the same control in their own permission panels. Change the camera and microphone entries to "Block" and the browser enforces it from that moment on.

  • Permission Is Per-Browser

Allow in Chrome and deny in Safari if you like — each browser keeps its own answer.

  • Revoke in Site Settings

Every major browser lets you flip camera and mic back to blocked in a few clicks.

  • Deny Means No Match

Video matching needs both devices, so a denied permission simply stops matching.

The Part That Stays with You

No product feature replaces judgment. These are the common-sense rules that apply to meeting strangers anywhere online — including here:

  • Keep identifying details back early. Full name, home address, workplace, school, and daily routine can wait until someone has genuinely earned them.
  • Never share financial information. No legitimate match needs your card number, bank details, gift cards, or a "small favor" involving money. Requests like these are a reason to leave and report, not to help.
  • Be careful with links and files. A stranger sending you a link to click or a file to open is a classic setup. You do not need to open anything to have a conversation.
  • Remember the camera shows your surroundings. Mail with your address, documents, or a view of your street can say more than you meant to share. Check your background before you match.
  • Discomfort is reason enough to leave. You never need to justify ending a conversation — to the other person, or to yourself.

If Something Goes Wrong

Leave the match first — distance solves most problems instantly. Then, if the behavior crossed a line, use the in-app report option so it reaches the moderation team. For account-level concerns, email [email protected].
